Following a large mobilization across Texas after the Paris attacks at the beginning of the year, and a French-Arabic party celebrating France’s diversity in May, Français du Monde South Central USA organizes a French-African party in Austin on Sunday November 15 from 6pm at Sahara Lounge.
The event is a partnership with the brand new Angers Day festival taking place on Saturday in order to celebrate Austin’s sister city in France. Angers Day’s afterparty will take place at Sahara Lounge on Sunday from 9pm.
There is a $5 cover to hear the four French-American bands that will play that night, but the French-African party from 6 to 9pm is completely free and will include:
- a buffet of spicy meatballs, rice and vegetables,
- an exchange between French speakers from both Europe and Africa,
- and a free kora show by Sahara Lounge co-owner Ibrahim Aminou from 7:30 to 9pm.
If you’d like to support the event by contributing your talents to the program, please contact the Austin group fo Français du Monde South Central USA by writing to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Come celebrate multiculturalism and mutual understanding with us!
